Sunburn, alcohol, blood thinners, tanning, etc
Yes, getting a tattoo hurts because needles repeatedly puncture the skin to deposit ink, but the pain level varies greatly based on location (bony/nerve-rich areas hurt more), individual pain tolerance, tattoo size, and artist skill, often described as scratching, burning, or stinging, with some people finding it manageable or even euphoric due to endorphins. Many find the pain manageable enough to be distracted by talking, music, or TV.
Sure
Depends on the size, detail, placement.
Wear clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area.
For about 30 days, make sure to keep it clean with mild soap and water, gently patting it dry with a paper towel, and applying a thin layer of unscented lotion or balm to keep it moisturized, treating it like a fresh wound by avoiding sun, soaking (baths, swimming), and picking at scabs, try to wear loose clothing to allow it to breathe and heal properly.
